The book “Bodily Communication in the Age of Corona” edited by Mami Yamaguchi, Tetsuya Kono, and Ikuya Tokoro, was published by Keiso Sha in July 2022. YUKAKO YOSHIDA co-authored with Miako TANAKA, a disability studies scholar, contributed an essay titled “Playing with ‘Disabled’ Bodies in Balinese Comedy Theater.” When we encounter unfamiliar bodies, our communication tends to become rigid. And under this pandemic, this tendency seems to be becoming even more serious. This article explores hints for overcoming this situation in a Balinese comedy play that plays with variety of peculiarities of human bodies. (In Japanese)
