COMMENTS
I have conducted studies in various regions in East, South, and Southeast Asia on the themes of folk religion, folk performance, and ethnogenesis. In Japan, my research has focused on Shugendō (Japanese mountain religion) and Kagura (sacred music and dance), although my research topics have recently shifted toward world heritage sites and cultural properties.
